Parlor

by gastronomicbypass

Location: 1745 W. North Avenue

In one word – Comforting

Food – Another place with the comfort food premise. I have gone for both brunch and dinner. Much to my surprise, I found the dinner to be of a much better quality than the brunch. More selection and better service. Have the chicken and the waffle and be sure to indulge in dessert. You will not regret it.

Drink – I love the cute little bar they have placed at the front of the restaurant. When you wait for your counterpart, you can make unassuming conversation with the bartender. They also have a decent wine list. Ask your server for recos though.

Service – I had fantastic service when I came for dinner and not so hot service at brunch. Let’s just assume that the staff at this place aren’t morning folk.

Occasion – I saw some dinner dates and intimate friend dinner (think 3 in your party).

Scene – The wood paneled walls make this place seem a lot more classy than the menu indicates. You’ll find a mixture of indie hipsters and adventurous Lincoln Park couples willing to venture west…for the first time EVER.

Dress – You could definitely dress up if you’d like if you’re going for dinner. Otherwise perhaps courduroys and a sweater?

Cost – Perhaps $30-40.

If you liked…, try –hmm…this is a “to be determined” land, I don’t know what would be the right reco…stay tuned.
